Blue BX auto off ebay

This one is now back in Manchester with me, I got a lift down to London at 6.00 this morning to collect it and drive it back.
1st inpressions generally excellent apart fron the description of the slight dent to the nearside door should have read slight dent to nearside font wing and both doors x 2 (at least its all on one side)

The car drives very very well and started instantly from cold without smoke and I've never seen a bx rise as quickly. 65000 mls with full documented Citroen / specialists / Citroen Service history.(£1200 in the last 18months) The guy spent £440 at Watford Citroen on MOT and service + suspension pipes in November 09 and £780 on service with more suspension pipes + front Spheres and brake reline Nov.08
I think the previous owner must have kept it garaged as the original paintwork still has a good gloss and as the description said there isn't any rust anywhere not even in the rear door shuts.

Unlike my other and previous TGD's it has a large analogue clock inplace of the tachometer in the dashpod and therefore no central dash didgital clock; Is that an Automatic thing?
+ already has a BX club rear window sticker fitted, is this car known to the club?

So far so good mechanically & structuraly, I will get it over the pit this weekend and do the timing belt and rear spheres + give it the once over & take some photies.

Yes mate, no factory diesel auto's had rev counters, probably something to do with where they pick up the readings, flywheel perhaps?

Sounds like a good car asides the cosmetic damage.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

I've had a diesel with manual gearbox and no rev counter either, I guess it's just a matter of trim level.

Yep trim or age or engine size, no 1.7 n/a diesels had one (nor 1.4 petrols) to go off topic a bit.

But if you take the centre panel out, you should find the connections for a digital clock if you wished to fit one. :)

Glad it turned out to be a good un. :D

Yes, I will be fitting the digi clock not only for the convenience of passengers but the blank in the centre pod is dam ugly and as all my other BX's had 1 there I am in the habbit of looking there for the time :?

Yes thanks Ken, had it on the ramps today it's deffo a good un remarkably totally rust free, looks two years old apart from suprisingly I noticed the rear arm bearings had gone. GSF a mile down the road had the kits on the shelf so I will be fitting them tomorrow.

Like you did Tim I think I will be altering the gear selector dial so it is on the right. Is taking the selector head off straight forward?

Our auto is an H reg with 64k on the clock, no rust evident and I've just done both rear arm bearings. The n/s one was completely shot, the o/s one was actually OK, but as were planning on keeping the car for some time, I thought may as well do them both. At least they won't be to do again. :)

Exactly the same Ken; N/S absolutly shot with offside not bad but still done both. The nearside was that bad It looked like it had been fitted dry.
