Bumpers need doing - I think I'll get them sprayed in the summer.

Rhapsody in blue.

Looking good otherwise though. :) The colour shows the clean lines very well - I had an XM in a similar blue.

The car says thanks! The condition the car's in now could quite easily be made concourse - but not by me I'm afraid as this is my daily drive for the moment. I'm thinking of getting a C15 van for day-to-day dirty stuff.

You would need a set of Tim's engine bay stickers though ....

Thanks - the location is Sharps Green on the Medway. Horrid Hill, in the background, used to be a place of execution for convicts from the prison ships in Dickensian times.

Very nice! Motor & setting. I'm always surprised to see so much space under the bonnet on those 14s.
What would you be using a C15 van for then scarecrow - classic artist/totter van! :D

 You are a true seer. It would also double as a sleeper and dog transporter saving me from shouting at the dog to get his effing paws off my paintwork/upholstery.

The credit for this car must go to the old boy who loved it from new, I haven't done much other than wash and wax (with Wilkinson's own brand). Oh yeah, I've paid for a few recommissioning repairs too.

I don't actually know how a concourse works, and I was only half-joking really. Is it like having a listed building, i.e. I'd have to have standard bumpers, not sprayed ones?

It's just that after looking at some of the gti's I prefer the painted look to the faded.

I'll be very happy with the car once the garage gets it running smooth and the exhaust is fixed some more. I've a sneaky feeling I might need a downpipe as all of the exhaust places I've rung say they can do everything apart from that  I wonder if there's a stainless exhaust available...

The engine seems to take an age to come up to temperature, so I guess I'll need a new thermostat too. Noting really major though.

That looks really nice - top colour there! I also really like the colour of the interior trim on these ones.
Horrid Hill
Ha ha! only in England!

Just noticed that your car seems to have nearly all of the little tyre valve caps in the wheel trims - they are made of unobtainium!

I guessed as much about the valve flaps - I will find another though! Failing that I'll have to try to 'fashion' one. Then I'm going to epoxy flexi hinges on to each.

There is no PAS. I don't mind on this one as it's quite light. On the 17RD lack of PAS was a total pain in the neck - literally. Hopefully it'll mean a long life for the HP pump - it certainly seems to be working better than in any I've had before.

Talking about steering, I was going through my limited spares collection and found a new, boxed PAS rack. I looked on ebay and one was being offered for over £200! Talk about cash in the attic.
