is it better getting parts from french ebay

Post by jacksun1987 »

Just been thinking. About french ebay. I dont speak frenchlol. But if i see a part. In a photo what looks good. Would it be better getting, It from there.
Does it cost more. Or is it nearly the same. Today. Ive got a speedo pod. With all the swiches. Like hazard wiper. The rev counter and seedo. The hole thing. For 5 pound. Its for a 1.6 petrol. I have a diesle. Bit my swiches. Dont seem to light up. Or function properlly. For 5 pound including p and p.

Then ive found single swiches. Like for the harzard lights. Bay it know for a fiver. Ive got the hole lot. For the fiver.

But if i need other parts. Is it better going on french ebay. Then english one. Does it cost more to ship it over. And as anybody else got anything. From french ebay

THANKS

If a vendor doesn't take PayThief, then the bank will hump you an enormous sum for a Euro (or any other currency for that matter) transfer. This can be anywhere between 8 to 35 quid.

I've bought plenty of stuff from German vendors, but then I'm in the Eurozone, so the bank transfers cost next to nothing.

I've had different experiences getting stuff from ebay.fr. Sometimes, you'll find that there is more rare items come up and that's good. Sometimes you get some crazy, rural parts seller who thinks that some grotty parts are worth their weight in gold!

All the same, I got a brand new old stock CX gearbox mounting for a total of €12 to the door. Postage took nearly two weeks though!

Google offer a free translater service. Just type in what you want to say in english and it spits it out in french.

Could Google crash through confusion?

Jeepers! If Google does to French what it does to German, then it'd be the equivalent of subjecting the request to trial by mincer.

If you add in this guy's command of your weird language, then substitute mincer for dynamite!

I bought a couple of good items off L'Ebay but they don't always post outside of France. The real gold mine is Leboncoin.fr ( much bigger than Ebay in France) - every BX part you can imagine - normally there's a phone number so if you can speak some French you can usually strike a deal with the seller for postage etc. Or write him some honky email using the translator! Afterall we're Europeans and we must commune with Les Freres BX!
Bob, can't wait to see you on the TV doing your stuff, throw in a bit of goose-stepping too - that'll really get them howling!
