Parts Cache???

Post by Philip Chidlow »

From the CCC site:

Was at my local dealer this morning for some bits for the C3 and got chatting to the Parts Manager. On mentioning I was a member of CCC, he said he has a storeroom full of obsolete parts which he would like to shift. He's a 'modern Citroen' man and admits most of the stuff is 'from before my time', but mentioned a load of AX, BX and Xantia stuff including an AX quarter panel plus AX bumpers and lots of BX bits. There will be stuff up there for other models he says, but doesn't know which ones.To be honest he doesn't know what he's looking at in most cases and, frankly, neither would I! The business has been on the go since 1962, so who knows what may be unearthed? What he wants, I think, is for someone to go along and sift through the stuff and see what's what and what's worth saving. Anyone fancy taking this on?
The business is-
Cookswell Garage, Pegswood, Morpeth, Northumberland NE61 6RF
Tel- 01670 512189
You'd need to speak to the Parts Manager-Steven O'Byrne
Please don't phone and ask 'have you got one of these or one of those?' as he really hasn't got time to sort through the piles of parts, he needs someone who knows what they're looking at to come up here and spend a day rummaging.

He's unfortunately off work next week, so it would have to be the week after or later.

For a minute Phil (I missed the first line of your post  ) I thought you'd moved up North! It reminds me, my local dealer also said they probably had a stash, but they never get back to me when I try and arrange a time to go sorting.

It sounds like a possible treasure trove! I hope someone can get up there and sort it out.
