Citroen-Forum International Launch
After the succes of the Dutch citroen-forum.nl website, the Citroen Forum foundation launched an international version on http://www.citroen-forum.com. The public Beta launch was on Thursday, april 1st 2010, with the official opening was on May 1st 2010.

Logging in with your citroen-forum.nl account
The account you may have used for the dutch version also works on the international version of the website. Your username, password, avatar, personal messages, and profile are automatically visible on both the .nl and .com websites.

Functionality
The Dutch version of the forum has many functions. The international version will start off with a forum only, though the foundation will add the same functionality as on the .nl site in due course. In time you can expect news, a car register, events calendar and a market page.

Unification
By introducing the international version, http://www.citroen-forum.com, the foundation hopes to bring together Citroen enthousiasts world-wide. The new forum will be an excellent place for contact between Citroen Car Clubs, improve parts availability, and unify Citroen enthousiasts everywhere. As befits an international site, the language of choice is English, though there will be 'local cafes' where discussion in for instance French, German and Spanish is possible.

History
http://www.citroen-forum.nl was founded in 2003, and has become the largest online Citroen community of the Benelux area. It has almost 14,000 members, 35,000 unique visitors every month and has its own servers.

So they want us to read theirs when they obviously can't be bothered to read ours, is it time to let Bob back out of the kennel (unleashed without the muzzle)

I seem to recall that many of them do read ours as there was quite a flurry of Dutch posters for a while.

Then you may wish to know that the second URL in your colleague's post here
Unification

is wrong.

He's managed to include a comma in the URL (http://www.citroen-forum.com,) which renders it unworkable.

He may want to edit it.

I'm going to keep pretty much a back seat for now on this one, as I believe that it's down to the members rather than the admin dictate what they want to see on their forum.

Personally, as I said on the other thread, I don't see a problem with it as such. If you liken forums like this to pubs, some people are content to go to the same pub all the time, converse with the locals and not visit other places. Others may spend a while in one pub, talking to friends before moving on to another one, where they have different conversations with different people. Sometimes they will meet up again with the people from the previous pub.

I will just point out that although I don't mind other forums posting to let us know about something that may be of mutual benefit, I would have preferred to have been asked whether I minded or not...

@ mat fenwick: You are absolutely right. I should have asked if it was ok to post the announcement of the new forum. I therefor say sorry. However, all was done with the best intentions - and in no other way than I would have done on the ohter fora that I post on.

@ linegeist: I will bring your remark over to Erik and ask him to edit the URL he posted. If that is ok with you guys :D
