At least that Serena's gone then. Did you know they were the slowest-accelerating passenger car of their day?

I drove a Nissan Vanette Cargo which is based on the Serena and is even slower! Blimey!

Matt - that's not as barmy as it seems. What ailments does the Rover have? I know you've been busy sorting the brakes etc.

yeah Stuart,

serena gone, Its shame really cos you could put bikes in it and tow citroens with it, but it was slow, amd you had to clime inside it to do the cam belt/waterpump.

Ian,

I shall casually menation the rover/BX thing. Its a 414Si new shape and its horrid - great sales technique huh? Its boring, its surprisingly quick for a 1400 though. Only thing they have a reputation, although im not telling you what it is :-)

Advice I hear is that it's only a problem if you neglect them ie don't change the coolant. No-one seems to say much but the Pug 1905cc turbo diesel can blow gaskets too. My 306 had done it at 46k although much more is normal.

Trying not to influence anyone`s decision but the bubbles used to be extremely popular in my local auction, especially the 1.4 with it`s cheap tax and insurance not to mention running costs. They seem to be a bit like Corsa`s at the moment where if the price is right it`s difficult to lose out as they are so popular and re-sales value are (or were) very good indeed.

Er, I did own a brown Rover about this time last year...

It was a V8 though so does that make it all ok?!

I think we've got a deal so BX withdrawn from sale/swap.

Looks like it'll be going back over to the other side of Northamptonshire again!
