Go for it Ray.These are rare beasts but if you can check the 4wd system as i seem to remember they had trouble?
How are you getting on with TRS?
Still no news about Cx but if he,s had to apply for a log book it may take a few weeks.

£350  erm, are values going up, especially a 4x4 with untested transfer box, buggered exhaust, & windscreen, i presume no tax or mot either??? I'd pay scrap value only tbh, but having said that, a car is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it, so i'm not going to knock anyone regardless of what he/she buy's it for.

Ray, i take it you know about the pitfalls of these 4x4 beasts? if not do a search on the forum, it may make the negotiations easier for you.

I know they can be a bugger, and will probably need a lot of the oily bits refettling. But.. I always wanted a BX 4x4, and how many are around these days? I've never seen one in the flesh (tin & plastic?). There might be 1 or 2 at the national, but 'in the wild?'

I'm in the perhaps luxurious position of not actually needing a BX - just having one for pleasure - especially the pleasure of saving one from the scrap, spending much more on it than it is worth, and having something I'm proud of at the end of it :) (my 19TRS auto is a fine example...)

I will have a bit of a look round, but as I recall the main complain is the fragile transfer box (which some people exchange for a Peugeot unit with much success) and the oddball exhaust, which will give brother hours of fun with a pipe bender and a welder :)

Hi Richard.

Hole in the side is gone, tailgate glass Tigersealed in, interior detail cleaned - pix to be posted soon.

CX: Thanks for letting me know. I'm hoping he hasn't applied for the logbook - I wish I'd bought it myself now - I didn't see it until it was too late :(

Maybe a gang of local hoodies could helpfully remove the window trims etc for me? :D

I have a 4x4 Estate that keeps getting threatened to be scrapped. I found a good 2nd/hand exhaust for it, just been stood for a few years. Starts and moves, 4x4 system doesn't clunk. Just needs a bit of work and a good clean.

Ray - it seems as though your fleet is lacking that 'sensible' estate car!!..........
