National Rally Convoy

Anyone travelling down from up t'north on Sunday monday want to meet up at the services. The one at Tamowrth isnt too bad, after that I think the next one is very near gaydon (warwick)

Mulley which way are you going?

No idea mate, i'll have a look at the map, i think Kevan was keen to meet up & go down in convoy

Ok mate, think the easiest way is M1 - M42 - M40 for you so we could meet up enroute if you wanted.

Anyone else up for a Convoy?

Do the M1 and M42 join?

If you want a picturesque route then i would highly recommend the Fosse Way from Rugby. Starting from Coventry the Fosse Way is much quicker than the motor way.

It does indeed, if heading from up north leave the M1 at Junction 23A to join the A42/M42, stay on it until junction 3a where you pick up the M40 (signposted london) for about 30 miles and leave at Junction 12 for gaydon.

Hi Kevan,

where's the most convenient place for you to meet up? I'm in clay cross, only a few miles from j29 M1.

Erm, i haven't posted that light as i've had trouble getting to it, forgot, then didn't fancy posting it without decent packaging as i just know it'd get bust when it arrived at yours

I'll make sure i've got it on me when we meet up, sorry about that. Drop me a pm on meeting up details etc....

I've just googled gaydon, & the route it suggests doesn't take you onto the m42, however the 2nd option is via the m42 to tamworth. The difference in time is 1 minute longer to get off the m1

Kevan, does the time that Tim suggests to meet up suit you? I think it'll take approx 1hr 10mins from mine?

Simple - set off at a reasonable time on the Saturday, arrive afternoon/evening and enjoy some light refreshment. Then, if you want to drive in convoy you can just pop out in the morning to join up with those arriving on the Sunday!

Yes thats fine, so what time will we need to leave junction 29 to meet Tim at Tamworth?
