They'll end up being weighed in for scrap - which is a shame, as it's only "people being people" that's caused it.

I did try to explain that the value is WAY Off, but to the company its just and old car and all they see is pound signs. If it had been £100 or so I would have taken it on but that price is just laughable.

There seems to be two extra noughts in the stated price, or is it just an absent decimal point?

Why don't they at least look on carandclassic, ebay or this fine site and then they'd have a clue? No-one in their right mind would pay that money for anything less than a sorted, top-notch model that's ready to drive away, unless that precise car had sentimental value...

Having bought a BX that was driveable home for £100, and seen a few of the 'free to good home' cars that members have picked up - all of which have looked less of a wreck than this does - all I can do is shake my head.

If they were willing to let it go for a sensible amount it might be worth looking at, but even if it was completely roadworthy when it was parked there it certainly isn't now: brakes, tyres... if it's been sitting with its belly to the grass like that it might not have much of a floor in it! At £1000, it's not worth picking up the phone - except perhaps to call a psychiatrist :)

TBH, the can bleedin keep it, i can't be arsed to deal with idiots these day's :lyol: Time to forget this one & move on as no amount of moaning is going to see it saved. By the time they realise its not woth the money they are asking, it'll have dissolved, a fairly regular occurance when it comes to these situations.....

That's why it's stood there for the last 5 years!

Looking at the fine collection of vehicles they have there, I wonder if they'd like to buy some more.
They can have my XM estate for grand, and mine's a diesel tell em :D

I bet if you drove in with one as a p/ex they,d offer you a bag of used Cat lit for it though. If it sits another 5 years there will just be a pile of plastic bits and a red stain on the grass where its dissolved.

If some of us send him an email of offers under Tim's £150, maybe he'll come around! :P

Somehow though, I don't think he will... #-o
