(Edit) Pinion valve rebuilds

Post by Oscar »

Does anyone know where I can get an FDV rebuild kit from? GSF and Eurocarparts don't seem to have them. It's the one with all the little hard rubber rings.

Following a recent conversation on BXP i believe they're NLA.

Of course, you may find one in a random Dealers back stock but that would mean having a good ring round and finding "Helpful" staff. But, as most of us know, sadly most of those are also NLA :(
I have zero patience for your tedium.

I have a question, has anyone asked plaedies about front strut rebuild kits (now were on the subject of repair kits) i mean they re-con the struts so they must have the parts right?

I'm an idiot.

It's the pinion valve kit I need. Martin at Pleiades has sorted one for me. Thanks Gibbo and Velo for the tips.

You'd think wouldn't you...
I'm not going to slate Plaedies, but I've found them to be really unhelpful the last couple of years, like, they just dont want to sell anything at all, to anyone.

I also know a chap (quite well) who bought a set of recon struts that were worse that the ones that came off the car.

I'll be buggered if I can find a supllier of strut kits so if Plaedies can get them I'd like to know where from too!

oh quite so, masses of useful info there, but I cannot believe their total lack of helpfulness when it comes to actually buying anything from them...

I phoned Martin a couple of years ago about this.. there is one shim or bush or something they can't get their hands on so they machine them themselves for the re-con kit.

I know a man in Northern Ireland with one strut re-furb kit in his garage. But don't tell him i told you. He won't let it go. :D

Well, the pinion valve rebuild kit arrived first class yesterday. Now I have to find my spare pinion valve - I hope I haven't junked it.
