I didn't know about any difference in ride, is there a reason for that?

Something to do with the Mk2 having rubber bushes instead of roller bearings on the early cars, not exactly sure where though. I understand that Mk1 and Mk2 front subframes are different thanks to this but are interchangeable.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Ahh yes - the squeaky rubber bush on my old estate that wasn't a creaky strut.
