Oh Dear, the things I found today...

Post by mds141 »

:!: Decided to change the spark plugs, rotor arm and dizzy cap today. Two of the plugs had shed their electrodes and all four were close to seizing in their bores!! Took the rotor arm off [funny looking thing ducellier]? metal contact was virtually non existent and the same for the inside of the dizzy cap!! Suffice to say replacements promptly orded at motor factors.

You could have used a more polite title than that

My 2 year old niece has an interesting turn of phrase. Not only can she say Citroen BX (and recognise one!), she also tells Noddy to f**k off as she throws him on the floor

EDIT: Expurgated

I blame myself - who would have thought Ian Dury's take on a kids song could be so, eh, controversial ....

The thread title has been amended to appease our growing band of moralists.
Praise be.

Could've changed it to OMG. Seems such a common thing to say these days lol!

Moralists: not enough of them around these days  :D

The most interesting thread on here for days... 8)

Still I suppose it does no harm not to offend those offended by offensive language.

I'm not against strong language, but don't really like it being used unless necessary. Sh*t is a word that's appropriate if you accidentally hydraulic your engine, or your foot goes through the floor a day before an MoT, but maybe not for worn out ignition components. I could use some VERY strong language to describe my CX!

shhhhhh, you're trying to sell it ...

My opinion, for what it is worth, is that swearing should be reserved for occasional use and never, ever in a thread title! There are plenty of alternatives to use.

This forum has some very smart and expressive people on it - which makes it puzzling as to why the need to post in chavspeak simply for effect ...............

My personal stance isn't a moral one - in fact my other post about Kiwi's use of immoderate language was simply an eye-poking mickey-take on his earlier soapboxing - and then his own descent into lavatory-wibble.

This country's already enough of a cesspit - surely there's no need to copy the behaviour of the burgeoning epsilon minuses unless there's a dire need? If I want my ears and eyes assaulted by the language of the gutter and the morals of the farmyard, I'll simply switch to the Dave channel .......... Image

In the meantime, I come here for the quality of the posting - not to learn new and imaginitive English words.

Sieg!

I think its just a slow news day (week?), some times you just have to make stuff up to keep the audience interested.
