4x4 Estate needing a home

Post by citsncycles »

I was at Tony Weston's in Cambridge (on the A38 by Slimbridge) yesterday and his son Andy said that he was wanting to shift the 4x4 extate they have there. Apparantly he tried selling it last year with no success & at that point decided to keep hold of it but he is now running short of space. When he last put a battery on it it lifted & drove with no problems, but it has a few dings and has been off the road for a few years now.

He's in the middle of sorting out a recovery truck at the moment, and once that's done he's threatening to weigh the 4x4 in, but in the meantime if someone offered him £150 or above (what he recons he'll get by scrapping it) they could take it away.

hmm, maybe a trip down the road is called for.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

The turbo and transfer box would be a tight fit, but I've seen one conversion. Very low geared apparently.
Using the box from an MI16x4 would be stronger but still have the same gearing issue, however with enough money you could get some custom gears made!

Wasn't someone looking into manufacturing a replacement shaft with splines made of nice hard metal as opposed to toffee?

Nice to see I've generated some interest 8)

This particular one is dark blue. I'm off to Redruth shortly to collect a bike for a friend (he thought he was buying a bargain, then realised how difficult it would be for him to collect from his home in Cumbria  ), but I'll take some pics and try to get more info tomorrow.
