Heart Stopping Moment

Just had a call from my folks to say that on the local news a fire had broken out last night at a local business park in the same area as where I store some of my cars.

A quick look up on the news website confirmed it was indeed at the same location :shock: . As the 16v, 16TRS and 19TZI are all currently residing there plus alot of spares my heart sank, I finally managed to get hold of the owner, thank the lord it was the next hanger along and he assures the 3 Bxs are safe and sound. The hangers are only 20ft apart but the fire service stopped it from spreading, if not there would be 3 Bx less on the road.

Asides some minor burns there was no injuries thankfully, derbyshire fire and rescue ave confirmed it was someone being rather careless where they flicked their fag end apparently :roll: .

I will be heading over after work tonight to make sure!

Thanks Brian, heading up there at 6 and im rather nervous, they are all insured fully comprehensive with agreed values but replacing them would very difficult, expecially the TZi.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Christ, small fire my arse, the two ends of the adjacent hangers are toast, and the roof collapsed ,some poor buggers caravans are badly scorched and the rear end of a green goddess is melted. If it had been my unit that had caught with how full it is (one unit is FULL of books and the other of wooden furniture) then I fear the result would have been disastrous.

Thankfully my 3 babies are undamaged and tucked up safe and sound.

and even agreed value won't make up for the time and effort finding fettling and keeping the cars in good condition - glad they were all unharmed :-)

they say that the person in question put their end in a wheelie bin next to one of the units thinking it was "out" turn out it wasn't and the bin was full of cardboard! :roll:
