Strut return hoses

Couldnt believe my luck today when I had to replace both strut return hoses on both BXs on the same side

Anyways the bypass operation I had done with the spare bits of clear return pipe that happen to fit into the broken section was not enough.

It got me thinking of what alternatives there are to that rubber that pretty much dissolves after a couple of years use to make a more durable design of flexible pipe. Eventually these pipes are going to become hard to source so alternatives?

Make, or get made, a couple of brass adaptors to clamp onto the struts then all you need is straight hose of the correct bore.

Similarly you could make one for the multi junction of the octopus where they usually fail, a brass or aluminium block drilled out and with connectors to push the pipes onto. Gibbo.
