ghaddon1701s TZD Turbo.

Post by ghaddon1701 »

My TZD turbo after it has been washed. Not looking to bad i suppose. Brought it in December of last year. Spent quite alot of money on it since then. New head and foglights. The four high pressure pipes front to rear have been changed. Just turned 150000 miles. Was about 131000 when i brought it. Certainly eats the miles. Jobs that could do with being done are: New hp pump, its a bit noisy but otherwise ok. Clutch bite is a bit high so that will need changing sooner or later. Saying that it has been like it for the last 18000 miles. And the low down the rev range judder i am experiencing that i have posted elsewhere in the forum.

Happy BXing everyone.

Graham

The wheel trims took some tracking down!! Cost over £100 to get four new ones! Cheaper than a nice set of alloys i suppose. Thank you for your comments. : D

I've just bought a set from these people, cheaper and can't fault the quality. My front one got cracked when the suspension sank and it caught on a tool box! It's amazing how much a new set smartens the car up though.

Looks realy quite nice considering it's red  Have you tried ajusting the clutch cable to lower the biting point?

  £100 for wheel trims, you must really like your car :D

erm, i got some speedline alloys with tyres for £40, so it is possible if you're lucky & really want alloy's.

That's one of the nicest red one's i've seen in a long while, & you've even got matching rare green tinted rear lights...

I understood that if you adjust the cluth that it just reduces the total amount of pedal travel and the biting point is still in the same place?

Also another problem!! I thought i had cured the leaky sunroof!! But todays heavy showers have proved otherwise. All drain pipes blown out. Leaks on the passenger side in the middle of the top of the door. Definately better than it was though. I really don't fancy taking the headlining out.

No not at all, if your clutch is worn out then it is worn out but if it is just your cable stretched then you can adjust your biting point accordingly.

Ref. the sunroof, when you say drain tubes blown out did you blow them downwards from the sun roof? If so you may have blown the blocked rubber tubes off. The tubes should be blown from the bottom up.(remove the rear lamp clusters for rears)

Always try adjusting or fitting a new clutch cable before you fit a new clutch!

I was all set to put a new one on my 19TZD a few years back, Mr Newbold adjusted it up and all was well.

Yes i blew them out from where they come out. Took ages to figure out where the front ones were. Its as if the headlining isn't sealing against the roof properly. Without taking it all apart its difficult to find out whats wrong.
