Hi all,

Just came in after taking my recently completed car for it's first test drive. Just a few quick photos; more to come.

Image
The newly finished interior. Complete with LED backlit instrument cluster and centre console, radio controls mounted on the wiper stalk & bluetooth.

Image
Ready for headlight aiming before the initial test drive.

I hope that you enjoy!

I hope to get some nice exterior shots soon.

That's great - a bit of discreet modernisation. I admire your dedication as I find it hard to keep the existing electrics functioning, let alone 'mods'!

Thanks Todd.

There wasn't a connector not taken apart and a cable not checked for correct continuity and resistance.

I had the break out box hooked up to the ECU connector block and checked the injection system. It's perfect.

I made a number of wiring enhancements including time delay interior lights, off delay cooling fans and new plip system with modern fold out key.

All in all the car has been in the workshop for 10 weeks.

Out of interest, what do the codes represent next to each car in your signature? [-(

Dad did the LED thing in Phoenix a while back with seriousley cool dimmable tri angle LEDS. I had up until that point thought "why? My bulbs last a good 10 years".. then I saw his and thought "cool, I'm having some of that" hence I too now have a large number of tri angle LEDs, in a box.. I might get around to fitting them oneday!

Hi Guys,

Thans for the comments.

The car was resprayed the original colour a few years ago so the paint just shines.

As for the rubbing strips, no, they're not on the car. I took them off as they were curling at the edges. I'd love to put some TZI side strips on but they are no longer available. At the moment I'm liking them not on the car. It's good a really clean look.

I'm looking forward to providing some more shots.

It's actually motivated me to get out the GTI and take some shots too.
