Well, I guess interested parties will have asked themselves, but I asked a few questions and having received an answer I'm non the wiser. The vendor has to ask their father if there is any history to confirm the mileage.

As ever, I doubt the mileage, and nothing will dissuade me without proof. That is enough for me to be unwilling to bid, so regrettably, I'm out.

I wonder if I could convince my kids to postpone Christmas for a few months or talk them and the wife into wishing they could have a new TZD for Christmas ?????

Getting info out of this guy is just soooooo hard work

I know from DVLA the car has six months tax on it, but he says he's sending that in for a refund

My point precisely.

This is the reply I got to my questions about the lack of power:

The car starts fine and revs freely when
disengaged, its only when pull away up any kind of
incline. I drove the car on Saturday and this seem
to be the only problem. My father had taken into a
garage who had tightened the gas pedal which
improved things a bit to get him home from
Glocestershire. Not being a mechanic I've not
lifted the bonnet.

I don't want anything to do with perpetuating the idea that clocking motors is acceptable. Not that I'm saying that this one has been clocked - but it does look highly suspicious to paranoid old moi.

Its hard to tell just from an Ebay Ad ,you really need to see / drive to believe i feel.If theres the usual wear on steering wheel,pedals,door rubbers seats ,then its had a "haircut".But it could be genuine.My Dads 14Re has only done 52k and thats a 1989 and used daily?
But it used to be easy to drop 100k off a 3 year old company car before its 1st MOt by throwing the original service book away.I had a 2001 Xantia 1.8SX which was showing 78k,but an old Mot was discovered showing 214k !
