I've sent him another message - I'm not going to hold my breath though.
Clicking on the '3 bids' then clicking on the truncated bidder's names makes interesting reading - gives an idea of what the other bidders are bidding on across eBay. I would guess that 2 of them are scrappies - and the current price is around weigh-in value.

He responded to my question earlier saying the suspension is still soft, and although when he bought it ,he had to top up fluid, its been fine ever since. It still has the original stereo although not working and the interior is a credit to former keepers.
Surely this is too good to go to the scrap man?
Richard.

He gave me a call this afternoon - he had to go away for a few days - family is more important than cars or eBay.
Anyone interested in this one please PM me with your tel number and I'll PM you with mine - I'm going to have a look tomorrow morning but the auction ends tomorrow evening so not much time for messaging etc.

It was a very tidy car inside and out - no body rust I could see - both MOT fails were a very easy fix - 2 hours max (reconnect crimps in the boot and secure the gaitor so more like 20 minutes). Dents to both rear doors easily fixable too. Carb a bit hesitant due to it standing around for a while but a couple of squirts of WD would probably sort that - definitely a bargain so I hope it's gone to someone who will fix it rather than crush it.

All the more reason to keep those that are still going still going.
If their value is rising then we must protect all remaining examples.
Unlike an endangered species we can't breed new stock.
I also hope this one has been saved and not excecuted.
