Interesting little nugget of info: The Citroen family had an exceptionally honourable role in the last war-Andre's brother-in-law was in the Resistance and killed himself on capture. Andre's son Bernard was a pilot in the Free French Air Force (he died six years ago). The 2CV prototypes were deliberately hidden from the Nazis. Contrast Louis Renault who was a Nazi collaborator and was imprisoned after the war and his company nationalised...

Running parallel to the yet-to-be-realised "pretend" (read: homage to) BX4TC project, which was always going to be a bit of fun rather than anything to be taken too seriously, is another project. This one is looking like it might be taking shape in the new year.
Here's a pic to give an idea...

Looks good from that teaser, but what are the floors and the rear subframe like. I've rebuilt various parts of the bodywork on mine so far, including the front undertray, the doors & the boot floor & rear valence, and it's all doable, but finding panels can be fun!
Which engine is fitted?

Waiting to hear back regarding rear subframe et al. Apparently it went for an MOT and failed on some corrosion at the rear of the sills. Some welding needed there, so it seems. But I need to know more. The front sphere top mount points look a little corroded, but it's hard to tell from the pics I've been sent. Again I've asked for clarification. (Also for the front tray)...
Essentially it looks like a practical project. But I suspect the difficulty will come when negotiating a price!

Yep. Shame Citroen did their not unique trick of confronting sales/success/economical trick of buying back as many as they could during the fuel crisis etc. - and scrapping them. They did the same with the BX4TC Evolution road car, following the lacklustre performance of the BX4TC in competition (and after the abolition of Gp. B).
I've seen and heard a Birotor. Very distinctive! Love the subtle wheel arch mods of that over the standard GS too.

The rear edge of the sills is a fairly easy fix, although if it's spread into the rear footwell there's a couple of interesting compound curves there.Waiting to hear back regarding rear subframe et al. If the rear subframe is shot Bourne Garage in Lincolnshire have some good ones they imported from Australia a while back, as well as some front undertrays, & possibly other bits - his prices seem reasonable, especially compared to some other specialists.
I'm not sure about the top mounts but it may involve dropping the front subframe to do properly.
