First post and it's an ad, sorry! I was put onto this site by Mr Dollywobbler! I have always loved Citroens of this era but mainly had CX's, this is my second BX, the first one (a GTi) I had about twelve years ago and it blew up within a week, it was a lovely thing though! This one I got off a friend, I like it but don't love it! It's got tax until the end of May 2011 and MOT until April, 109k, Full History pretty much and a few little bumps, good tyres, brakes and handles nicely, rattly exhaust and parcel shelf missing but I am not keen, anyone fancy it? £575 would buy it as is! I am up for swaps, British cars mainly, motorcycles or anything really!

I had this trouble trying to fit a towbar,is it from a mk1 as to why it doesnt clear the bumper?

I had a tow bar on my GTI, and it did not foul the bumper.

Not that it is an issue anyway.

Looks good in red.

If anyone on here buys it, I have a parcel shelf and a fog lamp that would fit it.

It came with the towbar I'm afraid! Apparently it makes an excellent tow car!

i was the 2nd owner of this car and it was mint. was gutted to let it go glad to see this car is still about. didnt have the tow bar on when i had it shame someone had made it look such a mess

wish i had the spare cash. it was up for sale on ebay for 750 a few months back by the bloke i sold it to up north.

it looks a total mess, it needs the tow-bar removing and a replacement bumper to make it look decent !

So factoring the cost of putting that right for starter's, best luck with the sale/swap, but I think you being rather optimistic @ £575 IMHO !

Its too strong for me needing the bodywork and other issues but it is taxed and tested and would be a good entry point into Bx ownership .Bit messed with unlike Tims totally standard GTI Auto. And its down south again.
I have a towbar that mounts up perfectly well underneath but is sooooo close to the bumper that cutting out the bumper would be the only cure.I still wonder if its from a Mk1 as the bumper cuts back more sharply and would clear it on a mk1.

when i sold this it was totally standard. the alloys arnt original it had steels on it. can remeber the mileage but wasnt major about 68k i think.
the bloke who bought it from me done headgasket clutch belts ect.

I don't think it's such a mess! I got this from a friend in Sussex, swapped for a bike, he bought it from a guy on ebay in 2008 with a dead clutch, my friend replaced that so are you sure you're talking about the same car? The guy on eBay claimed to be the second owner.
According to the ebay listing my friend bought it off it came from Halstead in Essex from the second owner who bought it for spares, had minor dinks, faded paint, steel wheels with a hubcap missing and the interior used to store parts, so that, along with a borked clutch doesn't sound mint!
Either way I think it is a cracking car with issues but I'm up for offers or swaps!

I think it's a bit unfair to criticise the car for the price that's being asked & its ono so may be had for few quid less, if it was up for a grand then i'd agree. Bumper to sort out & bust front fog light & mistatched rear lights isn't too bad in my book. Good luck with the sale, i'm sure someone will buy it off you, perhaps not over the xmas period though.
