Same old, same old

Best thing would be to not use fuel. That'll teach 'em!

I would sooner the tax was on fuel than on a disc in my window. At the end of the day if they don't put it here they put it there! Left hand / Right hand syndrome.

Unfortunately no matter who's in No.10 we have a massive debt to pay off! Looking on the bright side though at least we've finished paying our WW2 loan from the yanks and we can now start paying for Gulf 1 & 2.

and Afghanistan..

I nearly died this morning when I filled the valver up. Glad I did it today and not tomorrow really, since that'll add a few more quid on, but at the end of the day, like Defender said, if they didn't fuck us over on fuel, they'd take it from somewhere else, and it wouldn't make any difference what colour flag hangs on No. 10 really, we couldn't go on as we were.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

I know the feeling - we've been doing a lot of heavy towing recently with the Disco and I suspect getting close to single figure mpg (Filled it up twice in a week with a 90 litre tank, and it's nearly empty again ) Got to get the LPG system sorted, that'll make it merely expensive to run!

Really do you believe that it is just in the UK your being screwed over?

I filled up yesterday and paid the highest price ever for fuel, looking back at my fastidous records on the logbooks this was the highest although I did miss out on that few weeks in 2008 where it was a bit higher.

We had a 2.5% increase in GST (VAT) in October plus a rise to ACC payments (Dont ask what they are) and also a rise thanks to the Emmision Trading Scams. Those three types of increase went beyond just Fuel prices!

I do love the line from those justifying the rises of "Its ONLY xx% increase" well fark me thats more than my 0% payrise this year

How utterly odd!? I mean, how much protesting on Facebook will EVER make a difference? Think about it: If loads and loads of people held back on paying Income Tax (or at least the amount deemed necessary to offset the rise in fuel duty/tax) or drove off without paying the extra at the pumps the only thing that would result would be an increase in fines revenue for the authorities...

No, the best way is one not advisedly-discussed on the internet. As you can all imagine!

No, but we do pay more tax per litre than pretty much anywhere else in the world, and we pay VAT on that + the actual price of the fuel, hence we get taxed twice, which is a bit of a pisser.
