Yes that's bad news Paul - these days looking for work can be more effort than having a job so go for it and good luck with it. Let us know how you're getting on.

Could I make a suggestion , Paul?

When I was plopped onto the desk of the Jokeshop some ten years ago now, I took to the hills. I joined an organisation called WWOOF (Worldwide Workers On Organic Farms). For board and keep I volunteered to work at a country lodge in Portugal where I was subsequently offered a paid job. There are thousands of these farms all over the World including the in the UK.

If you were to go to one of the UK places you might be able to claim your dole whilst you're volunteering (it depends on the charitable status of the place you volunteer with). It's a great way to network, and if you're fond of the countryside, a great way to gain experience. Have a look at their website http://www.wwoof.org.uk/

Another good site for countryside jobs and opportunities is http://www.countryside-jobs.com/. Failing that, now is the perfect time to ask around for farm work and get your name down for the spring.

When you go to the Jokeshop make sure to ask them to explain what training opportunities are available to you - might as well get some free training in anything if it's on offer, and you'll still get your dole whist you train. Forklift licences are good to get and there's always work for a good forklift driver.

Good luck and welcome to the whole week as the Stiff Little Fingers used to sing

A update on the job searching. I have a interview at polypipe horncastle on monday. I hope i get it it looking good. Sent a cv by email. Then same day got a phone call saying come to a interview. Then if i get my job ill also get the pay out from my old job.

If everything goes well i could spend it on my bx. And make it just like new.

Good luck Paul,

Whatever you do make SURE you get your P45 from the old place or you'll be stuffed without it. If it doesn't turn up soon keep pestering them for it.
