Prompted by the discussions about dog guards, I forgot to mention that when I was last in France, I saw a BX 'Calandre' with a 'half' parcel shelf. It was well done, but obviously by the owner for a specific reason. Screwed to the top of the shelf was a black metal box (it was a non-sunblind shelf). I assumed this 'conversion was done because on the other side was a mini cement mixer(?)
