He does house clearances by the sounds of it. Probably hoping for a few quid over weigh in for the poor old girl.

If it's got a full set of those wheel trims with the valve covers... They're worth £40-£50 alone

Or at least they were when I wanted them... :?

Cosmetically that car looks nice, what a shame for it to be scrapped, however, it's a gamble as there's no info as to why it went off the road in the 1st place? could be a buggered engine, gearbox, who knows, seems a shame, but its a typical e-bay sale imho, naff all info to make anyone who's interested other than in spares

I doubt that very much Brian, you should be able to retax it quite easily once an MOT has been passed.

I think the Cat c / Cat d would appear on the DVLA record and it doesn't so probably no accident - but date of liability is 01 08 2005 so DVLA don't know where it's been since then.

Retaxing and putting it back on the road is as you say Tim not a problem - DVLA are good at taking your money :-) Subsequent to that the DVLA will ask why it hasn' been taxed or sorned for the last 5 years and they'll be looking to fine someone for not doing so - the present owner hasn't contacted them so they'll ask the new owner to answer that question - so the new owner would do well to have a proper receipt for it - with the seller's address on it etc so they can prove that the fine for not sorning for 5 years should not be applied to the new owner.

Part of the idea behind SORN is a continuous record of the car's identity so I'm guessing the 5 year gap may trigger the need for a VIC.

It does look too good to scrap - and it's up North as well - I just think it's not going to be entirely straightforward.

Strange, scrap is about £160 a tonne so I cant see the point, unless he intends to break it, which is pointless as a 16TGS isnt hardly sought after parts wise?
