With a very rusty cooling system that needs a good flushing out if the rust stains on the carpet from the leaking heater matrix are anything to go by.

Personally I'd steer well clear of a BX from the Kings Lynn area: They rot like pears lol!

yes that rusty carpet mess doesn't bode well. I wouldn't call a leaking heater matrix an 'idiosyncrasy' !

It's never 99p Mulley. I bought a BX for £75 and broke even when I sold it for £200-odd.

The car you bought had been sat still for years, this one hasn't, so if all it needs is a heater matrix, then it would be considerably cheaper to get home rather than on a flatbed, but i know what you mean though.

mmm, i'm thinking blocked coolant passages in the engine block, blocked radiator. I suppose a flush and some K-seal after might work for banger-purposes. But then it's probably leaked because the heater matrix has rusted through due to there not being enough anti-freeze with anti-corrosive properties in the system.

Mind you, the coolant in mine was pretty rusty when i got it, but didn't do it any harm.

I missed the red TGS in Liverpool by a pound to the scrapman the other day.Oh well i suppose i cant save them all?
