MOT Day - PASS!
Asides a blocked washer pipe which just needed unblocking with some compressed air , the GT sailed through her MOT today. Not bad for a 26 year old Citroen.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Pish!, its done over 1500 miles thank you and has actually been polished only ONCE since then (washed a few times), admittedly its rather grubby at the momentPhilip Chidlow wrote:Actually, Ken Tim and I drove it to the Conservatoire, Paris and back early last Spring. So it's done several hundred miles. It has, however, been polished 26 times since its last MOT

even so not bad for an old motor, I admit mine DO get pampered, never get wet much and live in a big garage under a car cover.nige wrote:we passed too yesterday, 16,000 miles coverd since last years MOT, needed a repair to the fuel line, track rod end, caliper unseizing and a couple of tyres

mot pass
Well done Tim & Nige on your mot passes
reading your posts has me thinking what is the average cost/repairs carried out on bx's for the mot?
this year i had to replace the rear arm bearings & one strut return pipe on the txd and on dads gti rear arm bearings & n/s rack gaiter, what a pain to fit, still not a great outlay for parts and another years ticket. still far less than people pay out for a service on more modern cars.

In the 7 years and 100k miles I've had my BX, it has only failed once which was on a loose (not worn) track rod end and corroded fuel pipes. These cost about £20, making it just under £3 a year to get it through the MOT.
Obviously other work has been carried out inbetween, but I try and keep on top of things rather than wait for MOT time.
