Very nice, I take this was during the 'C' pillar change over with the mixed bunch on the tarmac with slightly later ones on the train?

I think the ones with the plexiglas C-pillar were the higher spec TR ( Tres Riche). One of them is 'Tres tres riche' ( black one on tarmac) by having those early alloys too!

That green on any make of car was the most difficult to sell in the UK.

Over the years I had a few that stood on the edge of the site for months waiting for a buyer, same make and model in metallic green would go out in a flash,

I remember a very low mileage Vauxhall Chevette estate sitting around for 18 months and finally only going because a tourist's VW Polo had a terminal breakdown and he was desperate to go on his way. :) Gibbo.

Wow what great pictures! love it! I would love that green one!!! :D

No sunroofs mean they are early cars as none came as standard to start with....

Note alot of them have the metric steel wheels (different rim and more protruding trims)

Some cracking pics there Todd. I think maybe we could use some in the Citroenian in 2012 for the 30 years of the BX special....

I've got access to all of these pics on the Citroen press website, but can't really publicly distribute them on the 'net without getting into trouble. If someone sets up a 'Contemporary images' thread or something in the members only area I don't mind posting some more up.

I saw the pics on BXworld - the French BX club and just linked to them. They had a thread going just about BXs in that particular green - vert tuilerie! I've never seen one.
That's interesting what you say about green cars being hard to shift Gibbo!

Have to agree on that one, greens always been a hard sell, the light metallic ones are fine although always appeal to the more "senior" members of the public. Dark non metallic blue is also very hard to shift, being known in the trade as "doom" or 90 day blue.

Metallic green could be difficult too - my Mum's Beetle (I'm the the sole Citroen fan in a family of VW nuts  ) is one of the few metallic green ones sold in the early 70's. As the years have passed & the fashions changed, the colour has become more popular, to the point where quite a few restored cars have ended up sprayed in this colour!

Personally I love most greens on cars, although I know several people who don't

Used to have neighbours with green cars - Mr and Mrs both had different shades of green cars parked next to each other in their driveway - and the colours clashed very badly - definitely 2 different shades of yuck.

I'm not a fan of green cars either - but Citroen's vert tuilerie looks quite reasonable on the BX IMHO.

I once had a Fiat Panda on hire for a few days - I do hope the suspension has improved since then - very scary
