I\'d definately still be prepared to buy blind, you won\'t get a bargain otherwise. They\'re simple cars, even that last one could have been good with work. A ph2 like this is possibly the more sought after car, so on the face of it with the T&T unless it\'s rotten beyond repair (which most aren\'t) I\'ve push that one to £700 personally, as you will DEFINATELY get that back even if you tidy some of the rough ends and move it on again. In excellent/mint condition, you\'re looking at £1000-£1500 for these cars now and the values are rising fairly quickly for an old French heap! 67 BX 16v\'s on the road at the last DVLA count (68 now....mine!) 70 odd SORN\'d. Rare cars mate, if you\'re waiting for the pretty one to come along you could end up waiting too long!
Besides, there are a host of spares buried away for these cars and most people on here are very generous with their time and spares.
If you wanna bung me the fuel I\'ll take a look for you. Think thats about 40-50 miles from me, if that helps (though I think there are probably valver owners who are closer.)

Crap pictures but it looks great from what you can see and I like the look of the wheels too.

No worries mate, like I say the offers there. Or if you want to give me a bell when you arrive I can talk you through some of the BX/valver specific important stuff to check. Most of it is standard BX to be hoenst, and the valver specific things are more niggles than outright deal breaker type faults. In honesty, any ph2 under £650 is worth it even if it\'s a dog (we\'re not talking cars that have sat around under moss for years and years of course) aslong as it\'s solid enough to work with!james cartledge wrote:thats really nice of you to offer to look for me im thinking about traveling down to have a look anyway at the weekend like you say i have to travel to get a 16v as there rare now ive got 900 to 1000 budget hopefully that will get me a half decent oneKitch wrote:I\'d definately still be prepared to buy blind, you won\'t get a bargain otherwise. 16v\'s are actually robust things contrary to what most others think, so if it\'s got a smatter of faults its no big deal. Even the blue smoke isn\'t a major issue (unless it\'s the rings, then it gets pricey!) head rebuilds are pretty easy and the gasket sets are readily available still. I\'ve done two or three so far, easier than a Ford Zetec!
Only thing is if you\'re planning to come down on the weekend, does that leave you enough time?

regarding this car i was in touch with the seller last weekend finding a few bits out about the car getting more pictures etc he told me 800 is what he wanted i dicided not to bid as the car is a long way from me really
The seller has emailed me saying the front suspension is now not working on the car so i just wanted you people to bare that in mind if considering bidding as he hasnt changed his listing so far
hope me posting this wont cause any forum problems i wanted to make possible buyers aware of what ive been told by the seller
