Well I think it was up the suspansion. It was taken agees for the lights to go off. So i thought sod it. The lights did go off half way then came back on for a bit then went off.

Paul you might want to think carefully about driving the bx if you are about to have an imminent hydraulic failure. Recovery isn't cheap, if you don't get a free one because the brakes, steering, and suspension failed resulting in a catastrophe.
I drove it today and it was ok. It still takes a while for the lights to go off. When i first start it up about 2 to 3 mins mabye longer.
About the belt slipping. I have a oil leak so i wonder if the oil goes on to the belt. I remenber when we was cleaning my engine. We had degreaser stuff. And spayed underneth. Then washed it down with the hose. I started driving it it was superb..
So im just thinking. just mabye It might be the answer. To all my problems.

If there is oil peeing out of the camshaft seal, this can get onto the belt as i had a similar problem, new camshaft seal has fixed that. Easy way to tell if its on the belt is to get touch the belt & if its on your fingers, then that will contribute to your belt slipping & probably causing the issue that you've been suffering with. A replacement seal & new belt won't cost much & aren't too difficult to do.

Paul - if your high pressure pump belt is slipping, then the pump wont be pumping as well as it should and so hydraulic pressure will eventually fall. It'll fall faster if you are using brakes and/or PAS. It'll fall slower if not and if your accumulator sphere is in good condition. Once pressure falls low enough to trip the low pressure warning switch your dash warning/stop lamp(s) will come on. - So yes, the slipping belt idea could result in your lamps coming on. Have you had a chance to check whether the belt is oily and/or slipping? Steve

Not yet im sure i know where the belt is. Is it on the drivers side at the bottom. Im sure thats the one.

Paul, looking directly at the top of the engine you'll see on the right hand side a largish circular wheel (this comes off the camshaft), this has the belt on it which if you follow it down is on a smaller circular wheel which is attached to the hydraulic pump (green or black in colour). Just rub your hand over the belt to see if it leaves any oily residue on your skin, if it does then theres probably oil pissing out of the camshaft seal, you should see oil on the side of the engine & around (behind) the top circular wheel. If its lhm on the belt, then perhaps the pump might be leaking, unlikely but i had a leaking pump myself. Do you have a camera that you could take some pictures & you can post them up, this should give us more of an idea if there is a particular issue.
