Got to remember that most owners will be taking the car to garages, so thats where the costs get rather high

Is that actually true now for BXC members? I don't think that that used to be the case in the past.

Now with pics. Looks a VERY nice example, and well cared for. Worth noting that they are thoughtfully done pictures showing a reasonable amount of detail...

Yes, but as we've already established that isn't a reason not to go for it

Honestly if I hadn't just rather publicly decided to keep our GTi I'd be tempted. Great cars...

Hopefully it's got valves, just eight too few too qualify as what is referred to around here as a 'valver!'

A sorted GTi 8v is still no slouch, (I remember RLO and the 'chipped' green one I had in particular) and will see 62 mph in under 10 seconds of real-world driving. It's not an out-and-out fast road car, like the 16v but still fun. I hope someone on here is tempted, as I can imagine the 8v GTi starting to become as rare as the 16v is now, thanks to diesel reigning supreme in the economy stakes

0-60 in 8.5 & onto a 125mph, not bad by modern standards, i always enjoyed driving my one & it managed 36mpg on occassion
