I emailed the seller who hasnt got back to me as its not far from me ,I dont want to tread on anybody elses toes this time though? It was on Ebay a while ago so i dont know if the seller wants too much for it but the difference now is its run out of T&T. and needs a clutch still.

Didn\'t know they even did a Meteor estate, looks more like a Meteor grey TZD.
I know it looks tidy, but I think he\'s pushing it at £350. Maybe £250?

Weird how he\'s mentioned the MOT tester commented on it, yet it has no MOT? Major fail perhaps? Tread carefully on that one is my advice!

Hopefully not, looks like it has potential, and I\'ve always preferred the n/a 1.9D to the TD\'s myself.

I've just gone onto the DVLA website & its not quite as straightforward as i 1st thought. I thought if you had the reg number it would show all the details, but it doesn't, that'll only show whether its on the road or not & won't show any failures or advisory info. I think to access that you need: 11 digit reference number from your Registration Document/Certificate

I\'m pretty sure you can\'t find out what it failed on, just whether it\'s MOT\'d or not.

I know traders can check what they have failed on, when I sold our C class Merc the buyer wanted a fresh 12 month ticket putting on it and asked if his local mechanic who has always serviced his cars could have a quick look at it.
I took it for an MOT and drove it to his mechanics garage. When I arrived he gave it a quick check over and then went onto his computer before telling the buyer when it had been in for MOT that morning it had recieved 2 advisories.(which it had)

Went to see the car today. Apart from a laquer issue it is very tidy.Solid in the usual spots like top of A pillars, door shuts to rear arches etc. Very slow to pump up though and spheres are shot. In my opinion this car isnt driveable with the clutch issue. Stationary it was impossible to engage any gears and the pedal feels "funny" with no travel. It looks like a recent cable but doesnt look to have any adjustment so i wonder if its the wrong cable?
We talked about the reserve which i feel is far too high bearing in mind the work thats needed and have bid accordingly but without hitting the reserve.

Theres two options on the website; Status Check & History Check. Status will tell you the recorded particulars of the car like Reg No., Make/Model, VIN, etc and the last known MOT details (pass/fail, date/expiry).
The second, History Check will give you the same, plus all details of any tests back to about 2006 when the new online system went live. It gives passes, fails and any advisory notices issued. Test number, Station's name & number and their telephone number.

It can be handy if someone has pulled the avisory notices off the MOT, or if you're trying to chase service history as it gives you the garage's details. The only trouble is you need the V5 document reference number or an MOT certificate number before you can check. Not something a seller is always willing to give you.
