Post by simonbx17 »

I've gone and got a xm TD! I've wanted an xm since i was 10yrs when they were launched, i had the big brochure, 1:18 solido model, diesel decider pack cassette tape and the xm book, now i have the real thing!!

she has a few niggles to sort, passenger elec window goes down not up my mechanic has checked this and it appears to be a connection problem, sunroof needs lubricating, dash clock bulbs have failed, rear offside window mechanism has failed, few of the switches diagrams have rubbed off, the clock/outside temp lcd display has leaked, turbo gauge doesn't work and the clutch needs adjusting as the biting point is on the floor? but i don't care it's an XM and it drives superb nearly fell asleep on the way home!

thanks tim, it's fairly clean but has a few scratches and one minor dent on the nearside rear wing and the odd rust bubble on the front nearside wheel arch but yeah it's nice!

i'd quite like mk1 alloys to match my model plus they give the xm that space age look, but would settle for a set of later v6 alloys with the slanted spokes?

did you manage to sell the rd? and where's the ccc national being held this year?

Great looking car - particularly in that colour. I'd love an XM myself. K reg means it has the earlier phase 1 interior? Much nicer than the facelift model. The Maurice Sauzy book is worth a look if you're an XM fan. Hope you get the niggles sorted and it behaves itself!

Thanks bandit, not spoken to you for ages how you doing? still welding that red bx?

I will get some more pics up this weekend, it's the mk1 interior and it's a manual. I'm starting think what all the fuss is about with regards to the "silly" foot brake it's quite easy to use when you get in to the routine of it!

Don't be fooled by the photo's it has some scratches and one small ding in the rear left quarter panel but it isn't that bad really just being picky!

I know i'm ex bx'er but would like to frequent the forum again just to bask in everyone else's bx's aaahhhh Citroen porn! and offer any help/info where needed

Beautiful looking car. That small ding on rear quarter will come out easy enough, somebody like dentmaster wouldn't charge too much. ^^ ^^

nice XM - I've three currently!

Those trims are great - I've a set too plus a nice set of wobbly web alloys.

That does look smart & shiny Simon. 8) I wouldn't worry too much about the ding, as unless you're able to keep out of supermarket car parks and the like it won't be the last but c'est la vie!

I'm afraid I just don't have the cash at the moment (or the storage space) but a phase1 2.1td particularly in SX or VSX spec. definitely the pick of the bunch I reckon (not too many good ones still around)

There's is another excellent XM book by Jan Norbye (published by an Italian company called 'Automobilia') probably long out of print now but well worth tracking down if you're getting bored of your current crop of 'XM porn' !! ^^ ^^
