I emailed the seller just out of interest really and its a fairly early car originally on a F Plate. It got laid up when he was out of work many years ago and not through mechanical breakdown but he just couldnt afford to run it and there it has sat ever since.neighbours are nagging etc so its got to go if not to an enthusiast then to the crusher.
Anyone?
Richard.

He,s a really nice fella and he would really like it to go to some use/good home but all of a sudden has a massive rush for it moving as he said neighbours giving grief but if its sat for such a time why such a rush now? I know its only scrap/weigh in money and im sure there would be plenty of good spares and its really low on miles etc but i bet its a twat of a job trying to move it ?Really needs a recovery truck with a "tilt and slide " back to drag it up.The trailer i borrow hasnt got a winch and i doubt that a dead Bx will clear its bottom going up it.Shame it looks like another car for crusherfodder.

Is it worth putting a battery on it and seeing IF its rises, stranger things have happened.

Trouble is its a hell of a way from me just to pop round and try?It looks to have stood the test of time pretty well but like you said ,whats it like underneath after years of been on its belly on grass? Shame their arent more nutters like me living further south who could save it? A black p1 GTi with low miles ,surely somebody can save it and not leave it up to me again????

If it's based in Lowestoft itself, it's right next to the sea - wouldn't think the underside will be too clever....

After my experience with that 16v from Kings Lynn. I wouldn't bother TBH. It would cost a lot of time and money to restore. Probably more than buying this:
