(replacement second-hand front undertray/valance panel; £180!),
Where was that from? I know Chevronics have some, and I believe Bourne Garage in Lincolnshire may have a few rust free Austrailian imports. I bought my replacement rear subframe from them & was pleased with both the cost & condition.

How bad is the undertray? The main legs on mine were still solid but both the front box section that the bumper bolts to and the sheet metal work along the front edge and against the legs needed a fair bit of work (the rear edges had already been repaired). It took about a week from start to finish (including lots of paint, underseal, stone chip etc.) and the bit around the grills were especially fiddly, but I was pleased with the end result. If I can find the memory stick they're on, I can send you some pics if you're interested.

We are interested in any advice in that respect. We are still exploring options. One of the things we might consider is the GRP replica moulded from a good original, but also I might have located a source of parts from over the Channel (like new old stock grille, fittings, chevrons for an early GS) so we might strike lucky there.

So please, any pics and advice you can give would be welcome!

PS That item price was from Chevronics.

I am looking forward to Sunday. That's when I pick up a companion for the Green Hornet... the Dark Horse...

I'll post an update when it's safely with me.

Before anyone runs a sweepstake on how long this one'll last, I will just say... "until it has to go'". And by the look of things this one's pretty special. What's more, it's a BX (as opposed to XM, Synergie et al!). And it would make an exceedingly good Challenge car...

Looks very good. One of the last too. Shame that number isn't LHM rather than LHS. I've just put some of those wheels on my break yesterday. I really like them.
What is the Citroen paint name for that colour?

Those wheels will be something new for me, as will the colour (I don't know what it's called either)...

One of the last if it was a hatchback of course, but's it's an August 1992 estate so it was registered nearly two years before the end of estate manufacture (as the estates were continued up to mid-1994).

Being a 1.9 diesel, I am looking forward to the mpg economy. And in France, with diesel approximately 17 pence per litre cheaper it'll feel even better; I'm planning on driving at least 3,800 milesover there this year.

They're not metric wheels, luckily!

And yes, I know I'll be slower than many. But point to point, cross country these 1.9's can be hussled along quite nicely. Motorways and hills not so much.

If I'm attempting a motorway hill, four up with luggage, and switch on the air conditioning, I think the car will go backwards.

Well, it does have fully working R134a air conditioning, but significantly as the current owner acknowledges, the belt that drives it should be considered a service item (it's a bit thin for the job)! However, it's good to have the option to cool the car if it's been parked in the sun :)

So, I picked it up today. Excellent. And suprisingly quiet and refined for a 19 diesel (at least in my experience)...

Report and pics to follow. :)
