I CAN'T believe it

Post by tzd »

Got my Tzd fixed up with a bumper last week after it was rear ended ( thank you Andy), I took my TZD to London for a five day break, it drove there beautifully. On the way back I was near Chester, just about to get onto the M53 when I thought I'm loosing power, my foot was to the floor and I'm slowing down ??? my accelerator was feeling as though it was at a funny angle so I slipped my shoe off and felt for the accelerator and found out that the pedal box has snapped at the point where the accelerator connects to the box.
I managed to limp home by wrapping my toes around the accelerator and pulling the cable (not recommended) with my toes.
I shall take the box out tomorow and take it to a garage that I know locally who will weld it back into shape.
These things are sent to try us !!!

Kev

P.S. when I get it out I will photograph it and post it here.

This used to happen a lot, we use to weld an L shaped bracket to the inside of the pedal box to strengthen the part that supports the throttle pedal
