Like a Hurricane . . . again!

2 historic moments; have worked out how to post pics on this forum and have taken possession of J899 NCK! Took this pic in Clumber park after a quick wash and polish ( the car not me) and I have to say she is in staggeringly good condition - a few paint chips to sort and one or two other bits and pieces and she will be absolutely A1 or therabouts.

After all the stress of J821 getting written off it has been a real pay off to have the opportunity to own this car. Many thanks to J821 (deceased :-({|= ) for providing the engine and gearbox, but biggest thanks to Shaune however, for dropping it in and flogging me the car ^^bx> . Took this pic with my phone so the qualitys not that good - more pics when I remember to take my camera (if you're interested?)

That is one nice car, glad you're happy with it :D

Shaune had sold it to a mate of his who never looks after anything and does have his fair share of bad luck.
However, it's hard to believe that this car was on it's way to the crusher when Shaune stepped in to save it. Again!

J821 is now parked at the end of Shaunes street, looking rather like a turkey carcass 5 days after Christmas - though with rather more dignity I think - oh and greener than a turkey carcass - obviously. Anyway, before this metaphor gets unbearably thin, it's giving up it's various bits and pieces to keep more deserving BX'S on the road!

Hi Ken - Yes, Shaune said it had narrowly escaped the crusher - and the blighter had put stickers on the wheels! - for shame!! Anyway, in very fine fettle now - and likely to stay that way.

As Shaune's engine had died on his/his mates HURRICANE (J899 NCK) !
Paul296 wrote:Hi All,
Yes indeedy 'a bit of a mess' as you say! No the boot doesn't close and the boot floor has taken a bit of a mashing - all the plastic boot lining has just caved in. It still drives extremely well - as it always did ( the bumper will need a little tender loving gaffa tape as gravity is taking its toll!) I think it might be repairable but the cost would be . . . well alot!

The insurer's engineers got in touch with me today and they have upped their offer to 400 quid plus I get to keep the car - an offer I've accepted. It seemed reasonable to me and I'm tired of talking to insurance companies!

I've been in touch with 'Ken's mate Shaune' aka . . . Shaune, who is interested in my car for another Hurricane that currently needs an engine.
I'd post the pics myself but havn't worked out how to do it yet - so please feel free Tim (I'll just lookaway!). Many thanks Ken for putting me in touch with Shaune - very much appreciated.

Cheers

Paul

Here's a couple more pics of my Clumber park expedition. Have reduced the size this time as the other one was a bit BIG!

Watch out! Having found a worthy successor to my much loved and late lamented TGS Athena I think ‘anal’ might be about to become my middle name! Having said that coming second to the man who put the ‘T’ in Tcut would be an honour! :D

Yes, I'd better get the wiper put straight - I'd hate to think I'd subjected my Mum to an apocalyptic curse - she's not that bad (mostly blah )
