Our BX's

Post by Philip Chidlow »

I just thought, given the fact we no longer have - or need - a gallery section on the main page (which this year will need a revamp as discussed anyway), I thought wouldn't it be nice to have a thread of pictures of our 'pride and joy's.

I think for it to work the amount of non-picture posts should be minimised (so only comment with a 'return' image?) and with the summer coming up, we should encourage each other to dust off the camera, drive to interesting locations and get snapping.

There are some long-term members who I for one have never met - or indeed seen their BX. Something this thread could remedy (for instance, Way2go, like me has a GTi auto he's had for yonks and clearly cares for - I'd love to see a pic) :D

So who's going to kick off with a class pic of their BX then?

twas mine for a short while though, after Tim and Phil had it. should add it drove beautifully and apart from the rust near the filler cap and the "slightly loose" hatch glass was a nice car

It was passed around a bit: Tim had it, I had it, Mick had it (sorry Sue), someone else (I think), and then you Ray. She's a little 'well-used' - she may be 'mature', but she's so experienced: despite her temporary incontinence, she'll give you years of pleasure yet :)

That rust spot was the giveaway!

Thanks again for the encouraging words everyone.

Although today has been mainly spent curing the problems with my brother's 530i and stripping the interior from the CX TRS, I did manage to have a poke about at the BX today - findings in the usual thread.

Of these two, only the 16 valve is still registered.
Image
The 16 Valve is a Tri with all the 16 valve mechanicals, interior, and some parts of the body kit. DFW engine uprated to 10.8:1 compression ratio, cam, etc. My brother rebuilt the engine.

The GT is now off the road and is a parts car :( It's not as straight as it looks anymore in terms of suspension and bodywork due to an accident.

This is my TZi, as posted in another thread. It's my daily driver, could use with a roof respray.

Image

This is my current project. Definitely needs a roof respray! :D

All looking very nice. Good idea for a thread.

Here's mine, over the time I've had it. 289000 miles on it now.
