Looks fantastic. I would have to agree it is close to my perfect BX. I wish they had imported some four wheel drives to Australia.

I wonder how hard it would be to convert a the standard front wheel drive car? Has anyone got a full set of 4x4 running gear in fair condition? :P
Did they get 4x4's in NZ?

Good luck with getting it ready for the wetherby CCC meet.

I'm clueless as to knowing what reg's are from where...

...the only one I know is that apparently HRH1 was originally a Hull reg, and we gave it to the RAF, who presented it to the Queen, then a young Princess Elizabeth, in 1946. My dad knew more about it, but I can't remember, and he died in 1996, so I can't really ask him :)

Well, that was all a waste of my money then buying the valve stem seals etc. But I would change the timing belt, I have no idea when it was done...
Have you sorted those subframe mounts too?

As much as I liked it, it's main failing is the amount of wheels, two too many for my liking these days and it drives 3 too many as well :D

It's a shame I didn't have the facilities to work on it and I couldn't afford to pay a garage the stupid prices they were asking - £1100-£1300 for a clutch change seemed a little steep to me.

Richard your red shed is the kind of car that appeals to me now :) I'd drive a wrecker of a BX that worked well, that has a certain appeal.

Although I've got my eyes on a 205 turbo diesel at the minute, it costs as much as a set of bike tyres... I'm tempted.

205,s are fantastic things. Ive had most from 954cc to Roland Garros and GTI,s and cabriolets and i love em. Just a shame Citroen badges werent on them instead of Peugeot badges.
Next job is rear mounts and a look at the clutch. I let the cable off a little but with the mounts needing doing havnt been able to give it any to see if its slippng.Havnt been able to find a cam cover for the 19TRS i knicked it off for the 4x4 but have found an alloy welder local and it should be ready Friday.
There was a hell of a lot of oil splashed about Chris ,was that pipe suspect when you were using it? poss oil on clutch maybe?
Richard.

No, it wasn't suspect then, well, I didn't know it was.
But if you remember, I'd told you I'd pulled that breather pipe off when I was pulling everything else apart and I never reconnected it. I started the car prior to you coming to look at it and splashed loads of oil then. I reconnected it when I realised my error :)
I don't think I was supposed to pull that pipe off though because I didn't know it had had a dodgy repair on it. I put it back on for you coming (and hastily tried to clean up some of the oil) to view it then never looked at the car since. The pipe pushes on the that stub when it's in situe, I assume that my on and off pipe work and that fact broke the repair so I'm sorry about that.
The clutch just feels knackered to me, it's right at the top of the pedal. It doesn't judder which you normally get with oil on the clutch, it just doesn't transmit a lot of power. If you pull from 3,000 at full throttle it'll slip. It bites ok under normal driving though.
