STOP Light

Checked all the levels like coolant,hydraulic,oil, its pumping up properly etc but still "STOP" illuminated but nothing more. Any ideas anyone as im at a loss with it?
When started ,battery light,hydraulic light etc go out but just "Stop" stays lit.

Is the LHM sensor stuck?

must be an electrical connection or a stuck sensor? I've heard of the LHM res float becoming stuck before but it sounds like that is working.

Ive tried dis-connecting to wires to the LHM Res, and also the low water sensor in the expansion bottle but still "STOP"?

it's a bit beyond my expertise, i don't know how those sensors are wired up. hopefully someone else can suggest something to try. Good luck.

is that your Red 14RE on the bay? Looks nice.

My understanding is that the BIG RED LIGHT is a multi purpose idiot lamp designed for dense Frenchmen who don't do subtle flickery-gaugey stuff.

This lamp is wired up to low water, overheating as well as low lhm ........ so any one of those sensors could have filed - or indeed a wire become trapped and completing the circuit.

My first port of call would be to disconnect each sensor in turn to see if the lamp goes out. If not, then there's a fault in the cabling.

Normally there should be another warning light on to indicate what area of concern it relates to, don't suppose a bulb might be out hence why you've only got the one stop light on? When my lhm was low as it was pissing out, there was another red light on as well, hence why i mentioned it.

My CX 22TRS has a "check" button which lights all the warning lights when pressed. Maybe not a bad idea for a BX either - shouldn't be too difficult to fit (he says, now realising I've volunteered myself to experiment). :)

Reminds me of the Alfa 75: it had a warning light to tell you if any warning lights had failed. :lol:
