Post by BX Meteor »

2 previous posts in this forum from when it was previously listed

From January, without the red wheels, I think he withdrew it

From March, with red wheels, started at £999 no bids

And here it is again on eBay
1 bid already

I have just noticed that he says "this is the last time i will advertise the car,if it doesnt sell i will keep it" ....LOL.

I am tempted, my Accord 2.4 iVTEC is now 6 years old and I am thinking of getting rid of it, this 16valver sounds quite good, but though it is probably as quick as a 2.4 iVTEC, is it as practical as an everyday car ?

Also, what about insurance costs on a car with mods like that ?

{Alternatively I could get my iVTEC chipped and easily be much quicker ...the 2.4 only revs to 7k if I had it chipped to 8k, assuming no drop in torque, that would be a 14% extra reach in each gear, a true 35 in 1st, 65 in 2nd, 98 in 3rd, 130 in 4th, 165 in 5th if it would get to that}

Finally, this 16valver is about 120 miles from me and I don't want to drive all that way. If anyone else lives near the Wirral and takes a look, I would be interested in an opinion.

I doubt if even a brand new BX16V would be as reliable as a 6 year old Honda-let alone a 17 year old one.

It is possible to get them sorted, but it took me quite a while to get mine to that stage.

Mine is definately in the 'hobby car' category now, rather than my everyday car.

It is also quite thirsty around town- fine on a decent run though.

Insurance is cheaper than the Honda if you can get a 5000 mile classic policy.

It might be clever now, but it won't be in the morning!

I'm not far from the Wirral if you want me to cast an eye over it for you.

I'd struggle to get there by tomorrow evening sorry due to work commitments. I'm free for a few days after that though so could arrange something if it doesn't sell.
Drop me a pm if you want me to cast an eye over it.

:) Nice rhetorical question :)

In case anyone was looking for a factual reason, I think the bidder was French, retract reason is "Mauvais montant saisi" (Wrong amount entered), if you've ever changed your mind and retracted a bid, that is the best reason to choose

Just realised it was on a private listing, that usually puts a few people (including me) off bidding.
Oh well, it seems to have sold now.

Yeah I don't understand why ebay has private listings facility since all bidders are anonymous now anyway.

There were 1510 views (!!) and it went for a not unreasonable £923, possibly worth the money since it had a CD changer and alarm and immobiliser.
