Suspension problems

Post by jacksun1987 »

Suspension problems
Its done it 2 times now. I put the suspenion on low setting. When i put it in to drive mode. The car seems its nose driving in the groundlol. It stays in this posion like it seems a minite. And the lights come on saying stop, Also the hydrolic warning light comes on.
It takes a bit of time to go in the normal posion. The back end comes up first then it takes a while for the frount to go up. I have got a hydrolic leak. Could it be to do with that. Or somthing else.

thanks

Paul.
Check you LHM fluid level immediately (That's what the warning lights are telling you to do) !

It sounds like you've lost (or still losing) some LHM fluid from somewhere hence the reason for the lights and very slooooow response in the car responding to raising up when the lever is moved back into the normal position and BTW Paul don't continue driving without checking the LHM fluid as the next stage of even more loss of LHM fluid could lead to brake failure :!:

Fxxk God thats bad there are 2 patches of oil on the floor. The dark black stuff Which is engine oil. Then theres like a clear patch of oil next to it. It just started really bad latley You should see my parking space coverd in it. I diped my bread in the clear one. When i was on break. It came back green. So deffintley LHM. I have been topping it up more. Really worring thing was the other day i left my car about 10 minites came back and it look like it had been there for 8 hours. Hope its just a old pipe what just needs changing.

Sounds like more than strut returns, maybe octopus as a damaged one makes a big mess when the car sinks. Where in relation to the car does the LHM puddle occur?

PS: What did the LHM coated bread taste like?

Its the ame patch same aerea everyday and night. God i hope its not a octopus. The cost a bomb. I do need a new pump though. They cost a bomb as well. The puddle appereas. At the frount end of the car neare the drivers side. The oil leak is kind of in the middle.

It tastes nice.

You might be lucky & it could be the easy to repair one on the height corrector, but if not then it may very well be the octopus as previously mentioned. Best take it to a garage to see if they can spot which one it is.

if the fronts slow to rise, and you have a leak from drivers side behind the engine I'd say the height corrector is sticking or the control rod bush is cactus.
Fairly common.
I'd also say that it's most likely the return off the height corrector (that is indeed part of the octopus) that has failed.

It always is really, very short pipe that bends over on itself. Shit bit of design, but easy to "bodge" by cutting the broken bit off, adding a new bit and joining with some plastic pipe.

But yes, get it checked!

I can concur that a split octopus makes one hell of a mess of the neighbours drive. Mine stayed clean, as it has the CX on it.... :D

Should I mention that ingesting mineral oil causes brain damage?

Oh, wait, that explains a lot.....

I think the accuminator is leaking. Found some oil on it today. Could the be the cause of the problerm. When my car takes ages to go up. And when the warning lights go on and off.

The accuminator is the one underneth the car isnt it. lol

Went in my car to day. Parked it up for 15 20 min. Started it up, It was rising. Then it was in its normal position Then suddley the frount went down abit. I got back home, Truned the car off. Then i tryed to push it up and down. It diddnt move. The back was all nice and bouncy.

What does that mean?

Is the front height corrector control clamp a bit loose on the anti-roll bar?
