Allo Allo!
Just watched the last episode on "gold", where they all got together 40 years or so later, in the back ground outside the Cafe' was a white BX parked in a open garage, which had french plates and painted on yellow stuff on the headlamps, by the looks of side stripe on the wing it was "Pilot". The wiper arm "parked" on the left and there was a piece of cardboard covering the windscreen (probably to conceal that its a RHD)
The last episode was filmed in 1992 so that fits.

Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Apparently, Gordon Kaye was driving a BX in 1990 when he was involved in an accident which nearly killed him (an advertising hoarding smashed into his BX during the Burns Night storms). He was featured in 1989 in Frontlines (Citroen's mag) extolling the virtues of his Citroen.

It was Leslie Crowther's daughter.
The H van that was used in the last episode of Allo Allo, with 'Café René' painted on the side, is still trolling round the lanes of the south of england, still with the signwriting in place!
And, inexplicably, Allo Allo is really popular in France!

Agreed, but the big joke was the silly accents, and over here it's subtitled...!

When we lived just outside Versailles, our French friend were all avid watchers of Allo-allo.
The sight of British actors hamming up caricatured French accents reduced them to tears of mirth - and of course it was an excellent vehicle for them to improve their English at the same time.
Personally, I never really saw the joke ...........

I agree with all the above. 'Allo 'Allo is an absolute classic.
