Looks like the big decline happened between 2000 and 2004. Not sure whether it represents the end of the normal lifespan of the BX or a general demise of cars with carbs. Heading towards single figures for many petrol BXs, which only makes it more crucial to keep those left, on the road.

Well I got 2 petrol BXs out here in little ole shake rattle n roll NZ.

Although even my parts supplier now has only one BX sitting in the scrap yard. The xantias and ZX have taken over his dismantling.

There might be quite a lot more left than it looks at first. Mine is listed on the v5 as a "BX19 TGD DIESEL" if you search "BX" then its not listed.

Going through the 3 pages listed for "BX" gives 703 taxed Citroens for 2010 plus one Astra

But searching BX14 gives another 3, BX16 another 37 and BX19 another 254

So altogether thats 997 BXs that were taxed in 2010 so wheres Tim hidden them all

I also had a look at Mazda MX3 1.8i ABS models and the decline there looks quite consistent, but of course it's a newer model. The BX figures really drop off by 2005 and I imagine that it will be down to rust and deteriorating hydraulic pipes, octopus etc, and the dreaded MOT hurdle. We are down to the die-hard cohort of owners who value the preservation of their cars above the financial equation of scrap v repair. Even then, some cars are way beyond economic repair.

I agree that the search engine on the site seems to be selective. However, I pulled up the whole BX range and St Tropez was there. When I went back later, it had diasappeared. Strange.

I just had a play and according to that, there are only 150 19 TXD's taxed. Is this really true? Good grief. I know of four here in East Sussex within twenty miles of each other.

well the BX GTI 4x4 isn't doing so well, 6 licensed left in the UK (another 14 sorn) sad to see more off the road than on.
