New to forum, but not new to BX GTi's

Post by Mr.Majestic »

Hi all - just picked this car in question: http://www.bxclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14534

He wanted alot for it, good job I waited 'til he part ex'd it for a new Mitsubihi - and scooped it up for £600 from the dealer!

60k on the clock, tax till April, MOT til Oct, and a full tank of fuel!

Runs like a dream...I used to have one years ago and always promised myself another if the right one turned up!

Wow, certainly seems you got a bargain. Pics are, of course a must. I am pretty jealous too - as the BX GTi is my favourite flavour of BX.

I don't know where you are but why not bring it along to the Citroen Car Club National Rally next weekend? Give you a chance to meet fellow BXers... (and for us to oggle your car).

National:
16/17th July 2011at the Skylark Showground.

£7 entry fee per car regardless of number of passengers. £5 if CCC member.

£12 camping fee per pitch/per night (again regardless of number)

If you stay over obviously you dont pay twice at the gate.

9m x 12m Marquee has been hired for AGM etc

Live Band has been hired for Saturday Night

Huge Car Boot on Sunday, Seperate Field but same site

NO BBQ's due to fire regulations (sorry)

On Site Bar open Friday and Saturday

Toilets facilities etc open 24/7

Wow youve done REALLY well with that one, such low mileage, would love to see it in the flesh sometimes, cherish it! You wont get another opportunity like that again in a hurry! 8)

Hello Mr Majestic ( so called because of a fondness for the wine shops? :D ) and welcome.
unfortunately that link doesn't work anymore. You'll have to post some pics. It sounds like a good one.

I do work for the wine people! I have been waiting for this very car for literally 5 years since I spotted it in and around Exeter (where I live). I had one when I was 22 and loved it - until it got stolen. I got friendly with a local Citroen specialist when I bought a 16v ZX (nightmare car) who told me that the BX I saw around town was originally his car, then sold it to this old boy about 3 years ago! This guy knew I was interested if he ever sold it....and came to me first when he wanted rid. I was on holiday at the time so he thought I didn't want it. I found out that he then part ex'd it for a Mitsubishi two weeks ago so I legged over to the dealership and blagged it for £600 and a case of beer! It's not quite concorse, but to be honest - its not far off. The interior is as new, all the switches, stalks and pedals all feel really tight like a new car - gearbox is brilliant, engine is super responsive and smooth, hydraulics are perfect - all fluids (brake, hydro, steering, engine oil) were changed 4 months ago, it had a new sunroof last year - the damn thing is awesome!

I would like to show it, but I can't make next weekend - gutted

Not sure how to post pics....I will get on it now![/img]

BARGAIN! :D At 2250 I thought the original seller was dreaming a bit - but the valver experts on the other thread weren't that surprised - so all in all great result.

Bring it to the National so we can all have a drool over it (but hide the keys from Phil - he'll try to nick it! :D )

^^bx>

P.S. Got any pics?

Thats lovely!

A word of advice, get some tie-wraps on those wheeltrims, they have a tendency to make a break for it at speed!

Paul is right. Hide the keys....

Jealous isn't the word! Fabulous. Look after it - there can't be many BX GTis around that are so tidy.

Nice tones on the pic. BX looks great, as does that furniture shop in the background! Where is that pictured?

Nice story about your BXperiences!
