BX Estate - Rather optimistic/misguided seller...

40,000 kilometres, allegedly! I think not... just look at the footwell carpet! And the whole car looks like it's just been pulled out of a swamp.

I think he's left a zero off the mileage and added it to the price...

To be fair, doesn't he say the engine has done 40,000 miles? As you say, the rest seems to have done a lot more!

You're right, hadn't spotted the subtle distinction there!

Maybe not a swamp, just the river also in the pics.

Mk1 front bumper and really odd door cars, just like the old leader ones.

Manual windows too Ken. We're used to BXs, especially later ones, being high spec, with electric windows, central locking etc. Basically I think they had to load the specs to sell them here. A lot of French-market ones were really basic - one mirror, manual windows, low level of trim etc.

Oi! My car looks just as filthy whenever it rains! And whenever it stops raining our drive just turns to dust, hence it seems there's no point washing it.

Yeah, but if you were selling it, you'd probably wash it first... and you probably wouldn't be trying to get 1800 euros for it!

True, although it would take more than 1800 Euros for me to part with it! Actually, the only time I do wash it frequently is in winter, to get rid of all the salt.

Back OT, is that considerably higher than the French market? It seems as though prices are generally higher over there for cars of an age typically scrapped over here.

It helps that they have a 2 year MOT there. If we go to 2 year MOTs here too, I reckon it'll bump up second hand prices. (As, perversely will the recession)...

Yes, cars here tend to go for higher prices, but even so, 1800 euros is well over the odds.
The main difference in the market here is that you don't have a huge glut of recent ex-company cars depressing used values of anything over 5yrs old.
