Breaking a BX into tiny pieces
Breaking a BX into tiny pieces
I have to remove my breaker TRD from the barn to make space for building repairs. It doesn't run anymore after giving one last asthmatic wheeze and pissing out all its green, anyway it's been pretty heavily savaged for parts.
So, I have to remove all bolt on pieces inc engine and ancilleries then 'compress' the shell into handy disposable pieces.. and relatively swiftly.
Any thoughts appreciated re reverse evolution of a BX!

That's what I did... 9inch grinder, chopped the scrap estate up into small enough bits to put on Paul Witchard's trailer and carted it off to the tip that way. As documented here:

plasma cutters really are the sex!
Although I chopped a BX up in less than an hour with a 9" grinder, into small enough pieces to put the whole thing in another BX.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!
Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Plenty to think about there! I looked up plasma cutter - it is space age, sort of thing they'll be using to scrap the space shuttle now it's been grounded!
I think I'll be using the angle-grinder approach.. ( I know it's a bit 'gay' but it doesn't half eat through skin and ruin eyesight, which is why I wear big gloves and goggles and never drink or swear or smoke etc.)

Got a picture somewhere of me slicing the roof of my first VW camper apart with a grinder prior to fitting an elevating roof, wearing only shorts and carpet slippers!
