Where is this BX van?

Post by toddao »

I wonder if this still exists somewhere? If I had a BX van I would be tempted to re-produce. I remember NewMan clothing products from time spent in Paris in the 80s ( perhaps where as a youngster I got subliminally introduced to the BX?)

Have to find a van first which is nigh on impossible! I've got the feeling that this one in the pic is rusting in peace somewhere.
I was very impressed that the guys from our French counterpart club BXWorld managed to track down the one and only BX'K' Coupe even if it isn't looking its best!

It doesn't say where it is or what's up with it apart from Heuliez had a bit of a 'sell off' in 2000. I'll have to ask Remy - who provided the original press pic there that he got direct from Heuliez - what's going on with this one. Bit of a shame that it's mouldering away.

Interestingly the front wings on the mouldy one appear to be from a Sport as opposed to those shown in the visualisation.

Quite right, that needs saving and bringing to the ICCR!

The bloke in the picture - Alex - is the 'president' of BXWorld and he has probably the last surviving BX Buffalo - the Heuliez luxury break. I don't think they sold many!

I found out about this BX'K' Coupe - it is rusting in a garden near Strasbourg apparently - two hours from here.
Unfortunately it can never be driven on the road as it has no papers - it was only a prototype. On one side it is the coupe design with one door and the other side has two doors! It was part of a sale of 8 vehicles in 2000.
I'm trying to find out whether it's for sale, surely it could be melded with another road legal BX to create a roadworthy one.

I also found out that it is possible to visit Conservatoire Heuliez but it has to be arranged in advance. I don't have the time at the moment but this is something to consider.

This is something that should be arranged if possible - the CCC could get involved (as per Citroën Conservatoire visits) if it adds weight to the request. Is the conservatoire in Cerizay?

Yes, I assume it's in Cerizay, apparently they were going to sell everything at some point! My conversation with my 'source' was cut short this morning by a duff phone and screaming kids. I'll get some more info later hopefully.

If you look at the pic closely, you can see that it's got a normal rear door on the other side!
