I would imagine this started it's life as a company car, hence the holes in the dash for a car phone. Or worse a private hire cab. Does look quite nice though.

One big difference though Andy is that this is a TD, which is what people want when it comes to BX estates, in fact how many petrol estates are in the club besides your lovely 16TGS?. Not decrying the 16 for a minute as they are great.Grenman wrote:Is it a bit pricey with over 200k on the clock?
The red 1.6i didnt sell at a reduced price of 300 on feebay? May have done privatley. All those miles must have caused a bit of wear everywhere.

Don't forget the Green Hornet (similarly, a TZD Turbo estate) did the BXagon with no problem - and thousands of miles on top of that, with a mileage around the 250k mark, In fact until it's accident it had IIRC over 260k miles on it and was running pretty well.

Tim,
I think there are only 3 petrol TGS Estates on the road in the UK and i know TDs are in demand but i feel its mileage is a tad high for the price. Been kicking myself for not going for the 54k NA Estate last week. I know other forum members have been stating that some of their motors have also had very high miles but at what expense? The whole drive train will have had to do the miles indicated and that too wears out. Wheel bearings, clutch, gearbox [dodgy 2nd] etc to name a few parts. Seller dosnt say enough about that.Nor about any potential rust in known areas.
My TGS was such a fantastic find, kept in a warm dry garage for most of its life and its such a pleasure to drive compared to my N/A diesel and with no rust.I just have to use it when its dry for the performance it gives over the diesel.
I would give him 300 quid for it though.

I would also prefer your 54k TGS to a 200,000 mile diesel, however we all know these cars do love to do the miles and you never know it could be in good nick
If its been a rep mobile at one time most of those miles coudl have been done in the first 3 years and serviced on the button?. Failing that all the worn bits (gearbox asides in this case) coudl have been already replaced.
