Spain, the car survived!

Post by Wooscary »

Got back from two and a half weeks driving round France and Spain.

Only real problem being that there must be a bit of an issue with the near side front caliper as it chewed through a brake pad on day two. Pretty annoying, but could have been worse certainly.

I spotted at least 30 BXs, mainly in Spain, 40000000 Xantias, 1 DS, 1 CX, hundreds of 2CVs and several AX GTs.

A few photographs:

Looking small and dejected while I have a piss and figure out where to buy brake pads from.

This place did the trick for a price. I picked up a trolley jack while I was at it too, couldn't be arsed pissing about.

Pulled up behind this just as the guy was getting out, just over the Spanish border. He grinned and said "nice car".

This one was a few feet away from the previous one, not sure what model etc as I was too busy trying to decide whether I wanted any illicit substances from a nice man.

Odd one in Arnedillo, which is down the road from Enciso where there are some excelled dinosaur footprints.

This guy was quite the poser.

And a bit of foggy France for good measure.

Anyway, had an amazing time, totaled approx 3500 miles and bought a little bit of cheap beer also.

Looks like a good holiday. They seem to like their BXs in Spain - there's also quite an active BX Club but I don't really get the lingo.

Isn't everything legal in Espana? And don't the police sell the best 'shit?' :D

Cheers fellas. Yeah, it was a great time, I'm missing the food already. The heat less so.

Mileage now stands at 295519. Not too shabby.

Picked up a noise which sounded initially like a slightly holed exhaust, but which now sounds more wheel bearingish. Whipped the near side rear wheel off and the bearing cover is missing, the bearings look ok, plenty of grease. I don't see how lack of cover could be causing a noise though.
